As a corporation, Promega is committed to protecting the natural environment. This translates into concrete actions carried out by local teams.

In Switzerland, since 2021, we have been partnering with Almighty Tree and started the Go Green with Helix® program. Thanks to the active participation of Swiss researchers and scientists who bought through the Helix® on-site stocking, we have planted over 1900 trees and counting.

What motivates us is our love for Switzerland and its landscapes. Because we care, we want to preserve the nature we enjoy every day—always keeping in mind that all sustainable gestures, big or small, taken alone or collectively, contribute to preserving and protecting our planet.

Unterlunkhofen, AG
This forest was affected by bark beetle and wind, trees were uprooted and spruce trees had to be cut down. In collaboration with Promega, we planted larches and field maples. These species, resistant and interesting for the future, are intended to enrich this forest. Tree species:

The larch is distinguished from other conifers by its very fine needles arranged in clumps. The delicate green needles appear in spring, turn golden yellow in autumn and fall off in November. Of all the coniferous species, it is the one that surprises most by its changes. Like all conifers, the larch is a symbol of immortality. It is the only conifer that sheds its needles in autumn, which is considered a symbol of new beginnings.

The field maple is a small, hardy tree with a dense, rounded habit. Its foliage is elegant and its leaves are quite small. It belongs to the Aceraceae family. This tree can withstand drought and altitude once it is well established. The flowers appear in yellow-green clusters in May. They are very important for the maintenance of foraging insects. The field maple symbolises independence, freedom and a sense of observation.

Corcelles-Cormondrèche, NE

This wonderful forest overlooking Lake Neuchâtel was affected by climate change, the bark beetle spread within the spruce trees previously planted in monoculture. Promega contributed to creating the forest of tomorrow by planting oaks trees.

Peseux, NE

At this location, beech trees suffered from the recent droughts. Unable to get water deep down due to their creeping root, they dried out. We planted oak trees, which have taproots and can get water very deep so that they are more resistant to climate change.

The sessile oak is a large tree of the northern temperate hemisphere, with hollow bark, gnarled branches, lobed leaves and fruits (acorns) housed in a cup.

The oak tree symbolizes strength and power but also generosity. It has shared our lives since the dawn of time and has naturally come to signify longevity

Rüschegg, BE

This Bernese forest was affected by the bark beetle and the weakened spruces had to be cut down. Maples, cherry, larch and hornbeam trees were planted to enrich the forest and bring diversity. These species will also bring a beautiful biodiversity.

The cherry is a tree with an elegant silhouette and a charming spring bloom.
The white flowers with fine, delicate petals are grouped in lateral clusters. The fruits, called merises, are edible and are used to make kirsch. The cherry tree prefers deep soil rich in organic matter, cool, neutral or slightly acidic. The soil must be well drained, as it fears stagnant humidity. The cherry tree symbolises abundance, fertility and birth. It is also often associated with happiness, beauty and purity.

The Hornbeam has a dense and elegant foliage that leads it naturally into our parks and gardens. The catkin flowers appear in April-May; the leaves, twice as long as they are wide, are doubly toothed and turn a beautiful old gold in autumn.
The Celts cultivated it extensively, as a symbol of loyalty and spirituality. The hornbeam got its name from the people who sat under its trunk, who fell "under its spell". It has a liberating beauty.

Englisberg, BE

This project is located in the heart of canton Bern. The forest was affected by the bark beetle and the spruce trees were dry. To create the forest of tomorrow, tree species together with Promega Team and their clients, we planted Douglas, larch, maple, elm, oak and wild cherry trees.

Montpreveyres, VD

This project is located in Montpreveyres in the canton of Vaud. The forest was affected by bark beetle and wind, and the already weakened spruces had to be cut down. These problems are typically linked to climate change. We planted oak trees. This species, resistant and interesting for the future, is intended to enrich the forest and bring biodiversity.
