Trees planted in Switzerland

Tons of CO2 will be absorbed in average

Scott Sports partners with Almighty Tree to preserve, protect and enhance the value of forests in Switzerland. swisspor plants trees in Switzerland to diversify the forests with species adapted to climate change.

Scott Ports cares about their footprint and would like to do something good for our nature. It makes sense for them, as part of their philosophy, to equilibrate the footprint of their athletes' travel. Thus, Scott Sports plants young trees in the Swiss forests, close to their international headquarter, for sustainable wood management, greater biodiversity and carbon sink creation.
tree planting projects

Fribourg

Bois de Moncor

This project is located in the Bois de Moncor forest in Villars-sur-Glâne, which was affected by the bark beetle that attacks weakened spruce trees. Many spruce trees had to be felled. We have replanted species that are adapted to climate change and that aim to revitalize this forest. It is a social place, pleasant for walks and the discovery of nature with many didactic posts (Au Bois de mon Coeur). Several plantations have already been carried out in this forest which brings well-being to the walkers and inhabitants of the surroundings. Tree species planted:

The sessile oak is a large tree of the northern temperate hemisphere, with hollow bark, gnarled branches, lobed leaves and fruits (acorns) housed in a cup.

The oak tree symbolizes strength and power but also generosity. It has shared our lives since the dawn of time and has naturally come to signify longevity.

The flat maple belongs to the Sapindaceae family. Its leaves are large, palmate and flat. It is a tree that tolerates well low temperatures and atmospheric pollution. It adapts easily to different ecosystems but naturally seeks rich, moist soil. Its sap, slightly milky, contains sugar, and maple syrup can be extracted from it, although it is in lower concentration than in the sugar maple.

The flat maple symbolizes independence, freedom, imagination and observation.

Belfaux

The project is located in a very welcoming forest in the wood of Belfaux. After several dry summer and warmer temperature, spruce and beech trees had to be cut, spruce got attached by the bark beetle, and beech were old and dry. Therefore, flat maples were planted to enrich and adapt this beautiful forest with a nicve diversity of tree species such as larches and Scots pines.
