tree planting project
Switzerland
Romont, FR
This project is located in Romont in the canton of Fribourg. This forest was affected by the bark beetle, the already weakened spruces had to be felled. These problems are typically linked to climate change.
On this parcel we planted Douglas fir, this resistant and interesting species will bring diversity and a beautiful biodiversity.
The Douglas is a giant tree, capable of growing up to 100 metres in its country of origin, the United States, and in Europe up to 50 metres in height. The Douglas fir is a fast-growing coniferous species of the Pinaceae family that can reach very large dimensions, and its wood has very good technical qualities.
The tree has a conical shape and a straight trunk. Its bark is grey-green, smooth, covered with resin pustules in young trees, and becomes orange-brown, corky and cracked along its length when mature.
Its soft, supple needles are a beautiful blue-green and have a lemony odour when rubbed.
Douglas fir stands for strength and durability.
It is therefore the ideal gift for a lasting marriage and a union that stands the test of time. With this living, green souvenir, the wedding day will be unforgettable.
